Motivation is our emotional engine. It generates the energy that propels us to action to meet our needs, aspirations, and expectations.
People harbor hopes and expectations about the future, which affect their decisions and behaviors. To be motivated, they must believe they can achieve worthwhile goals through their behavior, aligned with their purpose and values. And to be engaged, they must experience meaning in their work, knowing that it is important, valued, and appreciated.
